ZIWI—Website Design & Strategy
Crafting a premium pet food website that gets tails wagging.
ZIWI is a New Zealand pet food brand loved around the world.
We were tasked with a St. Bernard-sized project: building a complete, multi-faceted website that would deliver on brand while servicing eCommerce markets globally.
Devoted pet owners take an interest in all aspects of their pet’s lives, right down to where the ingredients in their food is sourced from. The website needed to be informative, community-oriented, and reassure pet owners that ZIWI pet food comes from a good place.
We took a customer-centred design approach, with in-depth interviews, Figma prototyping, and user testing throughout. Journey/empathy mapping helped us understand the motivations, behaviours, and needs of high-involvement premium pet food consumers.
Wireframes (UX), design elements (UI), and a bespoke Shopify template were designed with the premium pet food buyer in mind.
And the ZIWI brand was refreshed throughout the website’s content, copy, and imagery, with a new design system made specifically for digital. This let us showcase the beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand and the quality of ZIWI’s premium products.
We also created a bespoke data strategy, analysing performance and integrating ZIWI’s CRM through Hubspot and Klaviyo. It makes the ZIWI global website ever evolving, and it can shift and adapt with the market.
