We’re delighted to announce The Webby Awards have selected our Sober Self Bot as a finalist in the Messaging and Bot category – ranking it alongside the top 5 chatbots in the world, this year.
The Sober Self Bot was developed to launch a partnership between our client Cheers! and the well-known ride-sharing app Uber and to encourage Kiwis to drink and socialise responsibly.
The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honouring excellence on the Internet and have been described by that venerable institution The New York Times, as the “Internet’s highest honour”.
Cheers! is a social change initiative to create a healthier, safer and more responsible drinking culture in New Zealand. Following the launch of the successful Sober Self Bot, Cheers! Executive Director, Matt Claridge, was invited to speak at the 2018 International Alliance for Responsible Drinking Conference hosted at the UN Headquarters in New York City.
This latest nomination follows a slew of awards for the campaign including; Best use of Mobile (Gold), Best use of Creative Media (Gold), Best use of Technology (Silver) at The Beacon Awards, and Most Effective Use of Technology (Silver) and Most Effective Product or Service (Bronze) at the New Zealand Effectiveness Awards.
Recognition for the Sober Self Bot comes hot on the heels of our much-lauded Emoji Journey for Air New Zealand, which has been judged by Facebook as “one of the best campaigns in the world this year ”. Emoji Journeys was deployed in eight countries and translated into four different languages. The campaign was also showcased by Facebook’s Global Creative Director at the 2018 Cannes Festival of Creativity.
